Step 5: Install Beams

Now that the posts (and ledger, in the case of attached pergolas) are in place, it's time to install the beams. There are 2 options for this step...

  • Option A: The "traditional" method (which involves drilling holes in the beams), or
  • Option B: Using beam attachment brackets to secure the beams to the posts (no hole-drilling required).

Option A

This 1st video shows how to install the beams using the TRADITIONAL METHOD (Option A).



Option B

This 2nd video shows how to install the beams using BEAM ATTACHMENT BRACKETS (Option B).
